Ladies Night: Mahjong and Mingle

Mahjong is a tile-based game (often compared to rummy) where players draw and discard tiles to build a winning hand. It’s a mix of strategy, memory, and a little luck – once you get the hang of it, it’s incredibly fun and social.

Register for one (or both) events below to learn the game or build existing skills.

Thursday, April 30th (6–9pm)

Professional Instruction – beginner-friendly.  Elizabeth Newton-Lock of Oh My Mahjong will lead a 3-hour beginner class for women interested in learning the game.  She’ll cover:

  • Game overview and history
  • Tile descriptions and understanding
  • Terminology and player etiquette
  • Practice building and winning lines
  • Steps to dealing and play sequences

Cost:
→$50 per person
→ A limited number of complimentary spots are available for experienced neighbors who are willing to help guide newer players.

Register by April 25th to secure your spot.

Friday, May 8th (6–9pm)
Open Play Night

A relaxed, social evening with experienced neighbors helping newer players learn as we go. While there is no formal instruction, beginners are absolutely welcome.

Cost:
→ $15 per person
→ A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Barracudas Swim Team
