Fitness Center Update

To all users of the gym,

As you know, we recently had new cardio equipment installed in the fitness center.  The new recumbent bike has a very short power cord.  We had to position the bike in such a way that it could be ridden while still reaching the power outlet in the wall.  We cannot use an extension cord because this would void the warranty.  We have requested that a new, longer power cord be installed on the machine.

In the meantime, individuals were shifting the bike and pulling on the cord to the point that the wires were pulled out of the internal connection of the bike, which has caused the bike video panel not to function.  This has resulted in a delay in getting the new cord because Carolina Fitness has begun the work to fix the broken panel instead.

To help us get the issues with the bike fixed as quickly as possible, please do not move the recumbent bike.  Although not in an ideal location, it is currently functional and usable.  Please do not move it.  Please be patient, the problem is being worked.

If you notice an issue in the fitness center there are QR codes posted around the gym that will open your email on your phone, address it to the proper email address, and frame up a request about the gym.  If there is something broken, take a picture or video of the issue, provide a detailed description of what the problem is, and press send.  We cannot fix what we don’t know about.  If you post the issue on Facebook, Facebook is where it will die.  We do not monitor Facebook.  Report any issues through the QR code, the Report an Issue button on the website, or email Cusick.

If you have a suggestion for something you would like to see in the gym, email the Board and include a link to an example to show us specifically what it is and how much it costs (i.e. to Amazon).  We cannot guarantee it will be purchased, but the more information you supply in terms of costs and details, the more likely it is to get a positive result.
